Bamya Stew (Okra)


INGREDIENTS:

•⁠  ⁠500 grams beef/lamb cubes

•⁠  ⁠2 tablespoons cooking oil

•⁠  ⁠1 small onion, chopped

•⁠  ⁠3 tablespoons tomato paste

•⁠  ⁠2 teaspoons salt

•⁠  ⁠1 teaspoon pepper

•⁠  ⁠Juice of 1 lemon

•⁠  ⁠400 grams okra (frozen)

•⁠  ⁠1/2 liter boiling water

•⁠  ⁠Garlic (optional)   


HOW TO MAKE:

•⁠  ⁠Add oil and onions to a pre-heated pan until glazed

•⁠  ⁠Add meat and sear from all sides

•⁠  ⁠Add salt, pepper, tomato paste and 1/2 liter boiling water

•⁠  ⁠Cook on low heat for 1,5 hours

•⁠  ⁠Add lemon juice, bamya (okra), garlic and cook for 20 minutes on low heat
