Kofta - Meatballs with Peas and Potatoes
• 600g minced meat
• 1 medium onion, finely chopped
• 3 tsp salt
• 2 tsp pepper
• 1 tsp turmeric
• 4 tbsp tomato paste
• 400g peas
• 400g potatoes, peeled and cubed
• 2 tbsp oil
• 1.5 liters boiling water
Mix the minced meat with chopped onion, 1.5 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, and turmeric. Form into small walnut-sized meatballs. Heat oil in a pan and brown the meatballs. Add the tomato paste, 1.5 tsp salt, and 1 tsp pepper, mixing well. Pour in the boiling water, then add the peas and simmer for 30 minutes. Add the cubed potatoes and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
